Battle of the Bands RESULTS POST – Tracks of My Tears

Today, in addition to being the A-Z Theme Reveal (see my theme reveal here), it’s Battle of the Bands RESULTS day. My battle featured Smokey Robinson’s Tracks of My Tears, pitting Linda Ronstadt against the band Go West.

Well, Go West didn’t go very far! This was a run-away train with Linda Ronstadt leading the way. Out of 18 votes, 14 went to Linda (including my own vote). Go West only received 4 votes. Linda’s voice just nailed it for me and it apparently nailed it for 13 others. No doubt she does an amazing job with the song.

Thanks to all who participated and voted! See you the first of next month with my April 1st battle…

Wow, this is my second battle where I get to be the tie-breaker! The votes were completely split on this one: 8 votes for Arthur Louis and 8 votes for Ze Ramalho!

So I’m going to break the tie and give this battle to Arthur Louis. I liked his version better simply because it was different. Ze Ramalho sounded much like Bob Dylan’s version and I like a cover that does something different with the song.

This was a fun battle. Hope you all enjoyed. Thanks for your votes. Be sure to stop by on the 15th for another battle of the bands!

Wow, this was quite the landslide! Matt Bianco won this by a wide margin. The M People only got 2 votes, with Matt Bianco finishing with 15 votes, including mine. I guess everyone really enjoyed the Latin flair to this Doobie Brothers original.

Thanks for all your votes! See you on the 15th for my next battle…
