We used to go water-skiing early on sunday morning (before all the loud, fast drunk people arrived at the lake.) We always said that was our church, and we didn’t mean it flippantly. The sun reflecting on the water, the quietude, the occasional bird or fish or turtle…. Really felt connected to the universe in those moments.
